Barowsky Pinot Noir 2018

Barowsky Pinot Noir 2018

The 2018 Barowsky Pinot Noir made from a single clone of estate grown Pinot Noir.  Less than 1200 bottles were produced of this vintage. The vineyard soil is composed of multi-layered, mineral-laden clay that was once San Pablo Bay sea beds. This mineral character is very much part of the small slopes of La Cruz Vineyards unique terroir and comes through in the wine. The vineyards were planted in 1989 and to this day are still completely hand harvested with a focus on organic farming techniques. This wine is ready to drink.  It was made to age gracefully. The soft silky tannins, pronounced minerality and complex fruit structure is worth the wait. Pair with skin on Salmon cooked over a Robata Grill. Cellar this wine and opened for special occasions.

I always appreciate Californian wine. Barowsky Pinot Noir strikes a perfect balance between fruit and acidity. The flavors of fresh raspberry, black cherry, and plum are beautifully layered, with a silky texture that makes it incredibly smooth to drink. It’s perfect to enjoy with a nice grilled picanha!
